Please note: The underground mine tour combines the Surface tour and the tour of the working mine underground. You will be required to change into full protective clothing as worn by all of the diamond workers underground, to do the tour of a working mine. You will also receive a short training on the self-rescue pack which you will also be required to wear underground as well as your battery pack to light your very own cap mounted light.
Fully equipped changing rooms are provided. On the ground, you go 763m underground to view the following;
On the Surface you visit the lookout point of the Big Hole, the Diamond cutting shop and the Jewellery Shop. Cullinan underground tour is recommended for the physically fit visitors. Children under 16 are not allowed on tour.

CULLINAN DIAMOND MINE SURFACE TOUR OVERVIEW: (Half day ± 5 hrs)
The surface tour gives the visitor opportunity to view the following:
Cullinan Diamond Thomas Cullinan discovered a large Kimberlite pipe in 1902 east of Pretoria. Cullinan Diamond, an incredible 3108 carat stone, warn by celebrities, royalty and Tycoons is named after him. The Diamond mine is also named after Thomas Cullinan. Over the years, more than 120 million carats have been mined at Cullinan mine. Cullinan Diamond mine still produces 25% of the world’s biggest gem quality diamonds and is the only source of the rare type 2D diamond which is vivid blue in colour.Recently the mine started a programme to increase the depth of the mine to 1000 metres. With the increase in depth it is expected that the mine will continue production for many years to come.
