Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre is closed on Mondays Combine Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre tour with Lion Park tour to have a full day experience of Wild life in South Africa. The tour starts with Cheetah run (If included) at Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre in the early morning. Cheetah run is the photographers dream, and truly breath-taking to witness the speeds that these remarkable animals can reach. A walk down the ambassador lane and short educational video about the centre and the founder Ann Van Dyk follows the Cheetah run. The tour proceeds to the farm, where you will be able to see and learn about the many different animals available such as: Caracal, Serval, Vultures, and some of plain game that roam around- Impala and Nyala. The tour coincides with feeding time You will have the opportunity to go through Cheetah, and Wild dog camps, on Open vehicle drive.
The Elephant Sanctuary has African elephants and offers an interactive elephant experience. It offers hands on educational Elephant interactions. This provides guests with a far more intimate experience with the Elephants. Positive reinforcement elephant training methods are used, as a result Elephants are relaxed and enjoy interacting with guests.
The centre was established by Ann Van Dyk in an effort to breed what was once a threatened species. The centre has gained International recognition for bringing the Cheetah back from the brink of extinction- through its breeding programmes. Since its inception some 800 Cheetahs have been raised and resettled in Game reserves, throughout South Africa and other Countries. Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre is now the breeding centre for: Cheetahs, Wild dogs, Vultures, Hyenas etc. Today the Centre can be proud of work being done to ensure the survival of acinonyx Jabatus – the Cheetah, successfully breeding these magnificent animals, including famous King Cheetah in Captivity.
